And there’s more…sick transit…

NHS Trusts, like blind trusts and off-shore trusts, have nothing to do with trust despite the warm fuzzy we’re supposed to get from the misapplication of a reassuringly friendly word. I remember widespread howls of anguish from all quarters when, years ago, the word gay was first expropriated and given its new meaning. Trust has no such defenders it seems.

Now the religious lobby have corrupted faith, which to me has always seemed a harmless, even a charming, little word, a trust synonym up there with the best of ’em, by tagging it on to their various institutions. How can a little kid on her first day at primary school possibly know what her faith is? Why don't they just call these places single-sect schools and leave us words we can trust?
